Starbosa Not Enough For Brazil
Leandrinho brought his A game in Japan today but it was not enough as Turkey defeated the Brazilians 73-71. Barbosa lit up the Turks for a game high 26 points yet couldn't sink a couple free throws near the end to clinch the victory. Sounds like the Turkish coach vexed The Blur with a couple timeouts in succession to throw off Leandrinho's rhythm. Leandro is still coming into his own and plays like this will test his fortitude. Even star guards such as Gilbert Arenas can miss huge timely free throws like he did in the playoffs when he faced off against Lebron. Hopefully these diverse situations help to strengthen Barbosa's mettle for this upcoming season and beyond. Leandro has a ton of upside still and the more he is tested the better equipped he will become. Here are some more snaps from the game of Barbosa and his pal Andy Varejao,
