Lebron James Just Punched Cleveland in the Mouth

Even my jaw smarts a little from Lebron James' blatant attack on the hearts, minds and mouths of Cleveland Cavalier fans. Not very long ago there was debate across the internet hotter than the fire that burned the Cuyahoga, twice, about whether Lebron would hold off on a Cavs extension to sign with a big market team. Analysts, bloggers, and fans alike were pitted on either side of this argument in a fierce debate that was seemingly endless, placing the poor and fragile Cleveland sports fan in the middle.

Now it seems that Lebron, or more specifically, Lebron's publicist/agent/media demon, has decided to take a cheap shot. In this picture you can see Lebron chillin' on a MTD Lawn Machine, which he is obviously endorsing. Of course he will be rewarded handsomely for such a move but that is not the real motive for this photo op. Lebron is seen here nonchalantely rockin' full-on New York Yankees gear. Where is the love for the Indians from this supposed C-Town homebody? It's all business baby. Just as David Stern changes the dress code and implements a new ball before the season starts to drum up media talk and interest into the NBA, Lebron punches Ohioans in the mouth.

Who needs to play on a big market team when you can just as easily manipulate the media into favorable attention that will pay large dividends? With the technology we have today and the vast influence of the internet, Lebron can be as big an icon as his PR team wants.
