Suns vs. Milwaukee Deer's (Bucks) and Scoop Jackson is a Fraud
7:00pm vs. Bucks TV: NBALP, FSN AZ
The Suns host the Milwaukee Bucks tonight in a game that may end up looking like a bad hunting accident. That's right, the Bucks are a lowly 5-9 coming into tonights game and they haven't won in Phoenix since 1987. Ouch. To add insult to injury, the Bucks starting frontcourt consists of two young, yet promising, players who are going to have their hands full against Amare, Kurt, and Boris. I like this matchup. The lone bright spot for this Bucks squad is Michael Redd, an all-star caliber player who has stepped up his game this season and is averaging a career-high 30ppg. Redd could get hot but the rest of his teammates are really going to have to step up. Raja Bell is going to screw with Redd all night and try to knock his jumper off target.
I'm looking for us to punish this team and maybe finally we can finish a complete game. No giving up a 20 point please.
In other newsworthy events, ESPN's page two writer, Scoop Jackson, straight up plagiarized an entire concept from the Cavalier of Yaysports. He even mentions a 'website':
A Web site gave me a nickname. They call me the Orange Roundie. This kind of writing is deplorable. Scoop obviously reads Yaysports. Scoop is obviously aware of the Cavalier's concept for the orange roundie, where the ball speaks from the first person as if it's alive. Cav's idea was spawned sometime last May in the playoffs and I believe the first reference to the Orange Roundie and the mythological fantasy behind it occured after a Suns game when Steve Nash was clutching the Roundie. Although nobody can be too sure, some say that it's origins are ancient. The Cavalier is even making a movie and the Orange Roundie is a prominant part of said film. Scoop took the idea, raped it, and left the world with 7,000 words that sound like "diarrhea of the fingers." See that? I just used someone else's idea but I linked to the source. Amazing. I think they teach about crediting sources in Journalism school, of course Scoop wouldn't understand because he has no education and no talent.
The fact is Scoop is a no talent, plagiarizing, joke with no ethical fortitude. He has just stole his last meal ticket. I'm calling for his termination from the four lettered network. If they had any credibility they would rid themselves of that parasite. I'm pissed off. This guy gets paid, probably much much more than we bloggers could hope to make from our forum's. He has a huge audience and he is stealing work from others and pretending it's his own and calling it a career. I mean there is this little thing on the side of Yaysports that says "Copyright 2005-2006 Miles Standish Ent." So yeah, it's probably not right to rip off the idea.
If ESPN doesn't do something about this, there is going to be a massive revolt. People are already very very pissed. Scoop should watch his back, the Cav has Roundie Henchmen. They will come for him. The bloggers will light up the internet and anytime someone is searching for information on Scoop Jackson, they will read about the inept charade he parlays as original material. The people have spoken (from comments on Yaysports!):
Dood, you got F'ing robbed by Scoop, Cav! He didn't credit you or anything. I've always hated his writing and now he plagiarizes. I mean, with his writing style, you think he'd be robbing FreeDarko before YAYsports...
This is a travesty! A quick Ctrl+F finds absolutely no reference to the word 'careful', nor any grievance aired concerning a dearth of manipulative appendages! I find it despicable, an empty ill-conceived counterfeiting of a truly noble being.
It will take many a baby panda to cheer me up after this.
On a more serious note, the pseudo-callout is disturbing to me.
I mean, if he is going to lift the whole concept of the personification of the Roundie, why mention the existence of the website from which the idea originated, and then fail to give any sort of credit for the idea itself? Instead, he credits an unnamed web site for the coinage of the term 'Orange Roundie', then can't actually link to the website or mention the website's name without making it too obvious that the personification idea his entire article was based on was completely unoriginal.
I just read the scoop "column." he draws my ire.
I just wrote to Scoop, verbatim:Go my minions, spread the word about this imposter named Scoop Jackson. Bring it up at all the forums you visit for blogger rights everywhere.
Scoop, I emailed you when your first column came out and I thought you were a fraud. I told you I would keep my eye out for you. Now, you've not only gone and stolen The Roundie idea from a website, you didn't even link to the site! You tried to play it off as if it was your idea, like a punk. Yeah, your street cred is blowin' up by the second, dawg. Horrible, you should be fired. You did a second rate job as The Roundie, too
GO SUNS. Six in a row baby!
