I got the KJ jersey on ebay. I can't afford Mitchell and Ness but RBK put out some nice hardwood classics jerseys a couple years back. Still trying to find a Jerrod Mustaf throwback. ;-)
Hersey, I was going to ask the same thing as Anon, because I love the pre-Barkley Suns jerseys. Too bad I'm a "preppie" and would get funny looks for wearing one. Besides, my favorite pre-Barkley Sun was Jeff Hornacek, and they probably never sold a Hornacek jersey. Uh, who are Mitchell and Ness??
Some sports media, including Yahoo Sports and Hoopshype, are really being suckered. They actually bothered to report a ridiculous rumor that the Suns might trade Amare Stoudemire to Atlanta as part of a 3- or 4-team Garnett trade. They made themselves look even more stupid by saying Stoudemire talked to Joe Johnson on the phone--the same Joe Johnson who left Phoenix partly because he clashed with Stoudemire--and said he "welcomed" a trade to Atlanta. In other words, he talked to JJ and said "I'm a loser, and want to play for a losing team instead of a contender." How goofy...
Um...don't discount that rumor. I HOPE it's just a rumor, because it would gut the Suns for Garnett (losing Amare AND Marion), but it could happen; KG really wants to go to the Suns, he and Nash really want to win a ring, and Steve Kerr wants to make a splash as his first go at GM-ing.
If we could somehow keep Marion, I might be almost in favour...but that is impossible with the salaries. What would happen would be some incredible sweetness of Nash to KG for about a year, then a rapid, LONG decline for the Suns.
We'll see what shakes out because there is so much disinformation out there.
I'm willing to venture KG would still opt out and take less money to play in PHX next summer. Why not pay the price this year and work out a deal?
That's fair, Hersey. I would also take the chance. But that leaves the issue of trading Garnett for a much younger Amare Stoudemire--it's pointless at best and absurd at worst. It's somewhat like trading Jason Kidd for Stephon Marbury, although Garnett isn't a loser.
