Congrats to Eddie House. Sun Devils everywhere are proud.

Now on to the draft!

I find it funny everyone is so ready to anoint the Lakers the next dynasty. Bynum played well for half a season before a knee injury and when he returns he's the missing link to a title? That's a big stretch. It took Amare two years to fully recover from his knee surgeries and he couldn't get a WCF team any further when he returned.

In the West, veteran clubs will retool with youth and the emerging clubs will get better with experience.

Methinks once Cleveland wakes up and gets LeBron another All Star and the Knicks use their endless money wisely, the East is gonna have some brutal matchups too.

I hope this Boston title wakes up some conservative owners and GMs and we see more teams go after the Celtics by acquiring big-time talent. Makes for more entertaining basketball.

There has been a problem since at least the 80s with in-house spectators' expectations of an NBA basketball; so in retrospect, I'm not surprised that many people are foolish and tasteless enough to *still* prefer the Lakers. I have the impression that in the 80s, the masses loved the Lakers more because of the Lakers and their city's greater glamor and razzle-dazzle, especially Magic Johnson's. The Celtics and Boston's more blue-collar image was probably "boring." For shame. Showtime is nothing.

I really like and believe in this quotation that I saw in a basketball history book.
"Basketball should not be permitted in Southern California. It's too warm there. The beaches are too golden. ... basketball is an eastern, city game. It is a game of grime and grunt and sweat. Basketball is for screaming fans who come by subway and in dented sedans, who know the strategies as well as they know their birth dates. It is not a game for polite applauders who arrive in sleek convertibles and think of it merely as a diversion." --Merv Harris [whoever that was]

The fans in Staples Center who wouldn't quit texting during the games there can eat *that*.

Sounds like an indictment of fanbases more than anything. I've never heard anyone refer to those Celtics as boring. The Celtics were like the Yankees. The 80's Lakers won 5 titles. They had Magic, Kareem and Worthy. If they played in Denver, the Nuggets would have been the glamour team.
